Vice President of Accounting
Accounting
Direct and manage all practices and activities of the Finance and Accounting functions to ensure compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations.  Manage auditing, accounting and recordkeeping activities of the credit union to ensure they meet generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP). Make recommendations relating to budget preparation, income forecasts, and operational changes as needed.

Directly or through subordinates, oversee and manage the financial and accounting functions of the credit union to include: ALM, budgets, GL, financial analysis, financial reporting and recordkeeping, NCUA Call Reports, investments, payroll, and taxes.

Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures for the Accounting/Finance Department.  Ensure that policies and procedures reflect current regulations and are communicated to and implemented by subordinates.

May direct and supervise development, production, promotion, and sale of credit union’s products and services.

Present monthly reports for the board of directors and senior management.

Participate in determining deposit and loan rates.

Provide guidance regarding investment decisions.

Participate in periodic staff meetings. Identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in services.  Keep staff up to date on trends and general credit union information.

Assist with lease negotiation and major purchasing decisions for capital equipment or other capital asset expenditures.

Develop, perform, and oversee various internal audit procedures, i.e. cash counts, teller drawer audits, review employee accounts, loan documentation, wire transfers, etc.

Serve as the credit union’s liaison with regulatory agency examiners and auditors.

And any other duties as assigned by the President/CEO.

Vice President of Operations
Operations
Has direct responsibility for the supervision of front-line operations and branch activities. Guide office staff in providing high quality service to members in the areas of account transactions, loan applications, new accounts and solving problems within established policies and guidelines.

Oversee the daily operations of all branch locations. Work with the President/CEO To establish and implement procedures as needed to ensure an efficient running and safe operation.

Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures to maximize efficiency, quality of work and to provide consistent high-quality service to members.  Train and maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, ensuring effective employee relations. Maintain accurate records of on-going staff training and professional development.

Recruit and recommend selection of quality applicants for vacancies, ensuring that the credit union is adequately staffed with competent employees for efficient branch operations.

Schedule staff; give performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.

Responsible for cash shipments, vault balancing, control and security of all negotiable instruments.

Ensure that the branches are in compliance with federal regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.

Perform duties of Loan Officer and other associated duties as needed within the branch operation: ATM/card services, teller, new accounts, share certificates, and IRA’s.  

Promote and monitor key products/sales within branches to ensure profitable and sound business practices for the credit union, a high quality of service for members, and that employees are maximizing opportunities to sell products.

Manage the security and safety of the branches, recommend and implement safety and security policies and procedures, and alert staff to any changes.

Responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the facility and equipment. Make necessary recommendations to the CEO regarding maintenance and repair work when needed.

Maintain safe deposit box inventory, billing system and rental records, assist members needing access to their safe deposit boxes.

Process ACH, visa check card and share drafts as needed.

Assist with daily opening and closing procedures.

Serve as a Notary Public.

Hold periodic staff meetings. Identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, changes in services or products.  Keep staff up to date on trends and general credit union information.

Assist in business development activities to include:
Select Employee Groups site visits
Select Employee Groups new employee orientations and job fairs
Being a liaison and a contact for existing SEGs and maintain all facets of that relationship
Assist in managing correspondence and marketing materials to SEGs
Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing marketing plan & campaigns and communicate this with staff.

Assist in the development, coordinating, and execution of the credit union’s Strategic Business Plan.

Ensure that the President/CEO is kept fully informed on the conditions and operations of the credit union and of all the important factors influencing them.

And any other duties as assigned by the President/CEO.
